Is it necessary to have my computer running 24 hours per day if I buy a robot?

Hi Anthony,
All forex robots are programmed differently. Even if a robot is said to only trade at certain times the issue would be to make sure that the stop loss or take profit target employed by the robot would be processed. As there are many ways that programmers program their robots you would have to confirm with the developer if the pending orders are sent to the brokers trading platform at the time it enters the initial order. Or does the trading robot send these orders and change them at 'any time'. Does the robot monitor the market 24 hours a day and make changes outside of order placement times?

With the vast majority of forex robots it is recommended to obtain a VPS service (Virtual Private Server) whereby you upload your robot onto the server so that it can stay turned on ALL the time. That way you don't need to keep your computer running all the time.

However, if you don't want to spend money hosting your robot I would recommend confirming with the programmer of the robot if you can get away with only having the robot turned on at certain times.
